Yes, I've been growing a beard. - Not to be "hip", but mainly in preparation for my fatherly duties at Christmas...
Yes it's early to talk of Christmas, but lot of hard work, patience and time has been needed in growing one: Similarly to a client relationship during a project/ campaign.
Wow, we've had the all clear! - The wife has backed our pitch to grow a beard.
But what is growing is prickly and putting me out of my comfort zone... "Should I trust this?", I think.
Then all of a sudden, my face looks smart and stubbly. The patchiness is decreasing and we have momentum.
Design & Build
So many different styles of beard and the design of what can be a very personal project is very subjective.
By understanding what styles are good for you there may be a need for several iterations. So just be patient, and trust yourself.
It's finally at a length where you can show it off to the world! Although, a bit ginger and may not quite what you had first briefed yourself, it conveys a sense of who you are as a brand, an individual. - Be proud!
With the hard work leading up to this point the final product really is a time to celebrate.
At times especially when the heat is on they can be seen as being irritating. - You'll want to shave it off. But don't! Embrace the beard!
Unless managed on a regular basis can become unkept and messy. - Investing in oils, wax and a good comb can help shape any untidiness, helping smooth out any major pain points that you may have.
All in all, a well groomed beard with hard work and the right level of nurturing can blossom like a successful client relationship. - They both bring success. But don't take my word for it. Just look at Steve Jobs:
- Pre- beard, Apple was failing and on the brink of bankruptcy.
- With beard, Apple became the most dominant technology company in the world.
Coincidence? I think not! 😉
